The Will of Mary Miller - 5 March 1827


This is the last Will and Testament of Mary Miller Widow of the late Henry Miller of Worbarrow in the parish of Tyneham in the County of Dorset _ First I give and bequeath unto Hester Jaret my Daughter 1 Deal Table with Drawers standing in the Kitchen 3 Petticoats and 1 Pair of Stays, Next I give unto Elizabeth Balston my Daughter 1 coloured Quilt which is on my Bed, Then I give unto John Miller my Son the large oval dining Table in the Parlour Next I give and bequeath unto Sarah Poulton my Daughter the large Pier Glass Next I give unto Eliza Spencer my granddaughter the Chest of Drawers in the Parlour Next I give unto George Spencer my Grandson that House which I now reside in with the Garden & all that pertains to it as long as George Miller shall live then I give unto Rebecca Spencer my granddaughter 1 Stump Bedstead six silver Spoons & the Corner Cupboard with all it may contain at my Decease next I give to Charles Spencer my Grandson my large Oak Chest to William Spencer my Son in law the House Garden and all Buildings pertaining thereto in which he the said Thomas Spencer now resides as long as either Henry Poulton, Harriot Balston or Mary Cockram shall live and I do hereby appoint the said Thomas Spencer to be my sole Executor and to pay all my just Debts then he the said Thomas Spencer to have all my Property that is not made mention of in this my last Will & Testament and in the presence of these Witnesses I declare this to be my Will & subscribe my Mark

The Will of Samuel Miller - 5 June 1833


This is the last Will and Testament of me Samuel Miller of Worbarrow in the Parish of Tyneham in the County of Dorset ffisherman made and published this fifth day of June one thousand eight hundred and thirty three ffirst I Will and direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences shall be paid by my Executrixes herein after named out of my personal property hereinafter bequeathed I give and bequeath unto my son Josiah Miller the sum of one hundred pounds I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Townley and her three sons the sum of one hundred pounds to be equally divided between them I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Bonfield and her children the sum of one hundred pounds to be equally divided between them I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Kezia Lander and her children the sum of one hundred pounds to be equally divided between them I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Jane Miller the sum of one hundred pounds for her own use I also give and bequeath unto Radican Hill the sum of one hundred pounds for her use which several legacies I desire may be paid as soon as conveniently can be after my decease As to my stock monies three pounds per centum per annum reduced Bank Annuities now standing in my name in the Books of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England my Will and desire is that my dear Wife Elizabeth Miller shall have receive and enjoy the interest and dividends (only of my stock monies) for and during her life and from and after her decease I Will and direct that my said Daughter Elizabeth Townley shall have receive and enjoy the interest and dividends only of one sixth part of my said stock monies for and during her natural life and from and after her decease I give and bequeath such one sixth part of my said stock monies unto her three sons to be equally divided between them share and share alike and I hereby direct my Executrixes to pay or transfer the same accordingly I also Will and direct that my said Daughter Mary Bonfield shall have receive and enjoy the interest and dividends only of one other sixth part of my said stock monies during her life and from and after her decease I give and bequeath such one sixth part of my said stock monies unto her children to be equally divided between them share and share alike and I hereby direct my Executrixes to pay or transfer the same accordingly I also Will and direct that my said Daughter Keziah Lander shall have receive and enjoy the interest and dividends only of one other sixth part of my said stock monies during her natural life and from and after her decease I give and bequeath such one sixth part of my said stock monies unto all and every the children of my Daughter Keziah Lander to be equally divided between them share and share alike And I direct my Executrixes to pay or transfer the same accordingly I also Will and direct that my said son Josiah Miller shall have receive and enjoy the interest and dividends only of one sixth part of my said stock monies for and during his natural life and after his decease I give and bequeath the sum of fifty pounds sterling of such last mentioned one sixth part of my said stock monies unto my granddaughter Mary Ann Miller Townley for her use and benefit and the remainder thereof I give and bequeath unto my said five daughters to be paid them share and share alike and I direct my Executrixes to pay or transfer the same accordingly I also Will and direct that my said Daughter Sarah Jane Miller shall have receive and enjoy the interest and dividends only of one other sixth part of my said stock monies during her natural life and after her decease I Will and direct that such last mentioned one sixth part of my said stock monies shall be paid and transferred unto such person or persons as she my said Daughter Sarah Jane Miller shall by deed or Will give or dispose of the same I also Will and direct that my said daughter Radican Hill shall have receive and enjoy the interest and dividends only of one other sixth part of my said stock monies for and during her life and after her decease I Will and direct that such last mentioned one sixth part of my said stock monies shall be paid and transferred unto such person or persons as she my said daughter Radican Hill shall (notwithstanding her coverture and with or without the consent of her husband Joseph Hill) shall by Deed or Will give or dispose of the same As to my dwelling house in which I reside and the garden buildings and appurtenances thereto belonging my household goods and furniture and all the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever I give and bequeath the use thereof unto my …..Wife Elizabeth for and during her life and after her decease I give devise and bequeath the same absolutely unto my said son and my said five daughters to be divided between and amongst them share and share alike And I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Daughters Sarah Jane Miller and Radican Hill Executrixes of this my Will and I do hereby empower them to call in and receive all my monies and to sign and give all such receipt or receipts discharge and discharges as shall be required as necessary for the purposes of my Will and also to deduct and retain all such costs charges……which my Executrixes or the survivor of them shall be put to in executing and performing this my Will and I revoke all former Will or Wills Codicil or Codicils at any time made by me and do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have to this my Will contained in three sheets of paper to the first two sheets I have put my hand and to this third and last sheet my hand and seal the day and year above
