Jim commented: This fountain, bearing the date 1853, has a common drinking water-themed inscription from the bible - "Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into ever lasting life." The modern sign to the left of the tap reads "Do not drink".
