By the unveiling and dedication of the memorial tablet to the members of the parish who made the supreme sacrifice in the Great War the parish of Tyneham has worthily perpetuated the memory of its gallant sons, and also contributed its quota to the war memorials springing up all over the country.
The tablet is of white marble on a foundation of black marble.
The unveiling and dedication took place at a special service held on Friday evening. The Rural Dean (Canon Blackett) performed the ceremony and gave an inspiring address on the “Unknown Soldier,”, taking as his text II. Cor. vi., 9.
